PostSubject: Lucky Star   Mon Aug 20, 2012 10:56 am

Lucky Star is very slice of life in that there legitimately isn't a plot to the anime until the last couple episodes, and the four-panel style manga never has a real plot. Because of this, there's a lot of mixed reactions about the series. I love the series, and Konata's one of my favorite anime characters of all time, but even I was almost bored to tears during some of the anime episodes. I can understand that it's hard to watch something seemingly pointless for 24 minutes. Because of this, I like the manga better. Yes, there's still no plot, but the humor and characters that appealed to me during the anime were still there without having it drag on and on. Instead of 24 minutes, it's four panels, which I find much more manageable.

So what's your experience with this series?

I haven't watched it outside a few clips, but it sounds like an anime Peanuts. Which is awesome.

Because it's become a modern classic (or "Legend"), I would recommend that any serious otaku at least try it out, even if only to know what other people are talking about when they reference it.

I LOVED this series XD

The sheer amount of random appealed heavily to my brain XD

My favorite is also Konata.

I personally loved sitting there for the 12ish minutes as they discussed the proper ways to eat ...whatever that was XD The awkward level of time spent made it so amusing to me XD

Yes! Someone else who likes it!

Sorry, just...So many complain about this show x.x Konata is my idol. I only wish I could be as big an otaku as her. That takes serious money, though, lol.

Yeah, that first episode with the proper way to eat a chocolate cornet.... That sticks with you, haha. Ever since then, whenever I go to the local Asian market, I buy a chocolate cornet and eat it in their honor xD

My experience was... odd...

So I watched the first 5 or so minutes of the first episode way back in '08. And I was like, "NOPE, can't do it." It was so random and so... I dunno, I just couldn't do it.

So like a week later, I got super bored and it was the only anime left unwatched in my folder, so I tried it again. I seriously got addicted. Didn't care for the ending (I rarely like endings anyway), but I wound up cosplaying Konata's cheer uniform like 3 months later. XD
